Last night we were lying in bed, with only the thin walls of an old house seperating us from our children. Joe and I were quietly talking about whether or not he had indeed ingested garlic sometime during the day. Well maybe it wasn't so quiet as Niah, reminded us he was trying to sleep. At this interruption our attentions turned to harrassment of our eldest son. Classic Niah lines were tossed back and forth amid midnight laughter. Wanna hear one? Picture a five year old Niah asking the question, "You know how guys go into a bar and get into farts?" (he meant to say fights) Another is the time during a stage presentation of the Nutcracker he stood up and yelled at the Mouse King with all his might, "Leave him alone you Bonk!" Rough language for a three year old. It was a lovely way to fall into slumber, quiet laughter hanging in the stillness, and smiles on our lips as eyelids closed for the night.
